As if transported from its aerie in the hills high above Hollywood Boulevard, this custom designed, Echo Park "moderne" is a treatise in the perfect play of wood, steel, glass and light. A completely natural fit in its lush, green surroundings, "The StepHouse," was constructed in 2006 and was aptly named by its owners, architect/designers, Chris King and Barry Jacob due to its somewhat unique location on one of LA's storied "Stair Streets."

The stunning layout of the home's two bedroom, two bath, open plan structure cantilevers over the slope with a rigid steel and concrete base that was designed for minimal invasion of the topography and natural flora of the hillside, while enabling full use of the incredible 800 sq ft deck for entertaining under the stars.
